Meggan Lambesis, the wife of As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, has said that her divorce with the singer was an amicable one and that his plans to have her killed by a hired professional have come completely out of the blue.

He was charged on three federal counts, one of of solicitation to commit murder and two of conspiracy to commit crime. He was bust by police having reportedly tried to hire an undercover detective posing as a hit man and will is currently being held without bail. As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis isn't great at plotting murders

According to the Associated Press, the September 2012 divorce papers filed by Meggan say that she in no way felt as though her life was in danger from Tim, although she does mention that he had become "obsessed with bodybuilding" in the lead-up to their divorce and that his parenting of their three adopted children often took a backseat as he was was often preoccupied by talking or texting on his phone. As Lambesis' obsession with working out got to the point that his marriage was in jeopardy he also set up a second official Twitter account, @gymlambesis, on which he would regularly commented on his changing appearance as well as his band's activities.

The other members of the Christian metal group - Jordan Mancino, Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso and Josh Gilbert - broke their silence on the rather surreal turn of events late last night (May 8), posting a statement to the official AILD website. It read, "As we post this, the legal process is taking its course and we have no more information than you do. There are many unanswered questions, and the situation will become clearer in the coming days and weeks. We'll keep you informed as best we can. Our thoughts right now are with Tim, his family, and with everyone else affected by this terrible situation — and with our fans, whom we love and draw strength from. Thank you for understanding, and as always, for your support of As I Lay Dying."
