Lisa Kudrow is making her latest comeback in, uh, The Comeback. The show that aired for 13 episodes on HBO in 2005 will be back for a six-episode run this fall, according to The Wrap. HBO announced the surprise news just days after reviving another of its older shows, Project Greenlight, which last aired 11 years ago.

Created by Kudrow and 'Sex and the City' executive producer Michael Patrick King, The Comeback stars the Friends actress as sitcom star Valerie Cherish, who is plying her trade in modern-day Los Angeles, California. Cherish is very much a D-grade actress best known for her starring role in the sexually charged sitcom I'm It!

When the show is cancelled, Valerie agrees to star on reality television show The Comeback, which chronicles the resurgence of a former sitcom actress' flagging career as she auditions for new roles.

"'The Comeback' holds a special place in the hearts of its many fans, including many of us here at HBO," said HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo. "I can't wait to find out what Valerie's been up to since we last met."

"I'm so excited to be working with Valerie Cherish again," said King.

"It was almost too fun play Valerie Cherish the first time around," said Kudrow. "I look forward to revisiting this resilient and ironically self-unaware character."

The Comeback garnered reasonably positive reviews the first time around, though during a commemorate article in 2012, The Guardian praised the show for being too far ahead of its time.

Kudrow hasn't acted since The Comeback, though is currently starring alongside Seth Rogen and Zac Efron in Neighbors.
