Despite starring in numerous blockbuster movies over a career spanning two decades, the Aussi actress recently revealed she is a rather shy person.
Even though Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman has been an established Hollywood star for 25 years, she is surprisingly only just starting to come out of her shell, which may explain why she has garnered a reputation of being a rather cold person over the years.
Kidman isn't as shy as she once was
While promoting her new movie 'Paddington' during an interview on NBC's 'Today' show Tuesday (Jan 6th), the Aussi actress addressed a recent quote by her friend Sheryl Crowe, who told Elle magazine that Kidman's mannerisms can often be confused with her "being an ice queen."
'The Hours' actress simply told the host Matt Lauer, "I'm also very shy, but as I've gotten older I've lost some of that shyness."

Despite feeling more comfortable with fame, Kidman and her husband Keith Urban will not pose of photographs with fans while they are enjoying a family outing with their children Sunday, 6, and Faith, 4.
"Our kids don't understand what we do, so for them, it's just, 'Why is this stranger taking a photo of you?' And it's very discombobulating for them," she said when explaining why.
However, Kidman is adamant that she is extremely grateful for her successful movie career, and personal life.

"We have a very easy, warm, peaceful life," she said. "I think that's something that I always wanted and I was heading towards and I didn't know how to find it-and I found it now. I laugh a lot more now, I'm happier."
Kidman also stated, "It's been an extraordinary journey, my life, from a little girl who grew up in Sydney and sort of watched the Academy Awards on TV when I was just seven years old-to have actually come that whole distance is extraordinary."
