Miley Cyrus was the name on everyone's lips earlier this week after the video to her latest single, 'Wrecking Ball,' was released, debuting a slower song than her last, 'We Can't Stop,' and a very strange video showing the 20 year-old star swinging around on a wrecking ball, smashing things, and running her tongue over a sledge hammer.

Interviewed on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, Miley described her new song and video as "vulnerable" and implored her fans to look beyond her suggestive gestures and nudity. "The song is a pop ballad that everyone can relate to; everyone has felt that feeling at some point," she said, adding "If people can take their minds off the obvious and go deeper into their imagination and see what the video really means, it is so vulnerable."

Miley Has Confessed That Filming The Video Was Harder Than Recording The Song.

"If you look at my eyes, I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record," Cyrus says. "It was a lot harder to do the video than it was to record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience."

During the filming of the video, an insider tells The Hollywood Gossip that Miley arrived at the studio happy and smiling but "it only took like two seconds for her to start crying," provoking speculation that she has something upsetting on her mind. The source added the shoot "wasn't an act."

It has been speculated by numerous sources that the themes and emotions deployed in 'Wrecking Ball' are related to Miley's fragile relationship with actor Liam Hemsworth.

Could 'Wrecking Ball' Have Been Written About Liam Hemsworth?

After her controversial MTV VMAs performance that saw her grinding on R&B singer Robin Thicke and doing her 'signature' twerking dance move, Hemsworth was said to be disturbed by Miley's performance and it is rumoured that the pair, once supposedly engaged, have called things off. To make matters worse, Miley has had to deal with the news that Vogue editor Anna Wintour may have cancelled her December front cover appearance as a reaction to her MTVs concert, which will be a blow to the singer who clearly loves her fashion.
