‘There Must Be More To Life Than This’ was first written by Mercury during Queen’s Hot Space album sessions, but was never finished. Mercury later visited Jackson to record his vocals for the 1984 LP The Works, but the song was still left unfinished. It would later appear as a solo track on Mercury’s album Mr Bad Guy.

Producer William Orbit, who has been working on the album, described it as “a trove of delights provided by the greatest of musicians.” “Hearing Michael Jackson’s vocals was stirring,” said the producer. “So vivid, so cool, and poignant, it was like he was in the studio singing live. With Freddie’s vocal solo on the mixing desk, my appreciation for his gift was taken to an even higher level.”

‘There Must Be More To Life Than This’ is one of three previously unreleased tracks which will appear on the album, with the other two being, 'Let Me In Your Heart Again' and 'Love Kills', which Mercury recorded as a solo single in 1984.
