The Beijing police announced on Monday (Aug 18th) that two actors, the 32 year-old son of Jackie, and Taiwanese movie star Kai Ko, 23, were detained last Thursday (Aug 14th) for drug-related offences.

The local authorities confirmed they found three-and-a-half ounces of marijuana at the home of Jacyee, and he also tested positive for the drug prior to confessing to smoking it. He is currently under criminal detention for "providing a shelter for others to abuse drugs," and if convicted he could face the maximum prison term of three years.

Jacyee's Hollywood legend father, who has campaigned against drugs for years, and in 2009 even signed on to be a 'Narcotics Control Ambassador' of the Chinese police, spoke out about the controversy on his website Wednesday (Aug 20th).

"When I first heard the news, I was absolutely enraged. As a public figure, I feel very ashamed; as his dad, I'm very sad and disappointed," Jackie wrote. "But the person who feels heartbroken the most is his mom. I hope our younger generation will learn from Jaycee's mistake and stay far away from drug abuse."

The 'Rush Hour' star then addressed his son directly, telling him to take responsibility for his own actions and mistakes.

"I would like to take this opportunity and say to Jaycee: you've done something wrong and you have to be responsible for the consequences," he added. "I'm your dad and I'll always be with you. We will face the road ahead of us together. I should also take some of this responsibility because as his dad, I didn't teach him well. Therefore, on behalf of Jaycee and myself, I extend our deepest apologies to everyone for the negative impact this has caused on society."
