The car racing franchise's latest instalment will resume production this April, and the film-maker's will attempt to 'retire' Paul Walker's character instead of killing him off.
Paul Walker's last ever film will definitely be completed.
'Fast & Furious 7' has finally been given the green light to resume production this coming April, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Filming was haltered last November (2013) due to the sudden death of the car racing franchise's co-star Paul Walker.
Universal Studios will begin production right away on the 1st of the month.
The other cast and crewmembers will be shooting the finishing sequences of the film for around six to eight weeks in Atlanta, Georgia.
They were originally meant to head there shortly after thanksgiving, but this was canceled after Walker was killed when visiting Santa Clarita on Nov 30th.
The 40 year-old was in a Porsche GT when it crashed after the driver lost control and collided with a post and tree which caused the car to burst into flames.
Paul's autopsy report determined the cause of death was from "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries."
'Fast 7' was about half way through shooting when the father-of-one's tragic death occurred, which forced director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Universal to change the script, and now it is believed Walker's character will be 'retired' and not killed off.
Filming of the car racing franchise will resume in April
"Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers," a studio spokesperson said at the time.
"At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise."
The franchise's star Vin Diesel confirmed the new release date via Facebook which will be April 10th, 2015, giving the production team a year to finish the movie.
