The actress shared bad memories of the day on Twitter after another user posted a picture of the cover.
Maybe don't remind Evan Rachel Wood about the time she graced the cover of Vanity Fair alongside Amanda Bynes, Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, Alexis Bledel, Raven-Symoné, Lindsay Lohan and the Olsen twins. The actress has just opened up on Twitter about the awful time she had on the shoot, saying that the experience left her “almost in tears.”
Evan Rachel Wood did not enjoy her 2003 Vanity Fair cover shoot
It all started when another user tweeted Wood a picture of the cover along with the caption “never forget”. “I was almost in tears after this shoot. They tried that dress on me, I wasn’t comfortable but they told me there was no time cause everyone else took up too much time with their fittings," the actress wrote.
“Then I was given a choice on whether I wanted to wear flats or heels. I chose flats and was immediately handed heels and told they looked better.”
“Then we were all lined up, stared at and approved. I was 15 and felt for the first time my identity being erased and the pressure to shut up and do what you are told,” she continued. “I felt like meat. Since then, I have found my voice. Never again.”

However Wood did go on to say that she has “shot the cover of vanity fair since and had a much different experience. It was quite lovely.”
Hours later the actress was back online, clarifying her earlier tweets, “To all the haters. I am not complaining about being on the cover of vanity fair. I understand I am very privileged and there are far worse things to go through,” wrote Wood.

“My point was that things aren't always what they seem. Especially in this industry. What may seem glamorous sometimes comes at a price. I only want to encourage other young girls to stay true to who they are. No matter what. Hold on to your self.”
Wood is currently filming drama Into the Forest, alongside Ellen Page. Earlier this year the actress announced the end of her two year marriage to British actor Jamie Bell, with whom she has one son.
