EmmaYouAreNext.com, the website purportedly set up to countdown to Saturday's apparent leaking of nude pictures of Emma Watson was actually a viral marketing stunt to shut down the website 4chan. The website threatened to release explicit photos of the Harry Potter star in response to the well-received speech she gave to the United Nations on September 20, 2014.

However, it has emerged to be the work of Rantic Marketing, with the URL now redirecting to the marketing firm's website where users are greeted with an open letter to President Barack Obama, calling on him to shut down the 4chan site where the wave of explicit photographs of hundreds of celebrities were posted earlier this month.

Clever Redditers outed the firm on Tuesday, pointing to a pastebin document where someone by the name of 'Gammarays' connected Rantic to the threats, as well as the online magazine Foxweekly.com. According to the document, EmmaYouAreNext.com and Rantic.com are "hosted on the same server or share at least one server in common."

The letter to President Obama read: "We have been hired by celebrity publicists to bring this disgusting issue to attention. The recent 4chan celebrity nude leaks in the past 2 months have been an invasion of privacy and is also clear indication that the internet NEEDS to be censored. Every Facebook like, share & Twitter mention will count as a social signature -- and will be one step closer to shutting down www.4chan.org."

According to the Reddit thread, Foxweekly - which bills itself as 'an independent online magazine that specializes in reporting the latest, U.S., World, Politics, Business, Tech, Entertainment and Science news' - was previously known as Swenzy and before that, SOcialVEVO. Both were known for viral marketing pranks.
