Brian Koppelman, David Levien and New York Times writer Andrew Ross Sorkin will pen the pilot, which is described as a fictional, "forensic look at the world of high finance," told through an "approaching collision" of the two men, USA Today reports.
This role will be Lewis' first appearance on the premium cable network since he starred in 'Homeland' for three seasons as soldier Nicholas Brody, for which he won a Golden Globe and Emmy Award. The British actor's other film credits include 'Band of Brothers' and BBC's upcoming six-part historical drama 'Wolf Hall.'
Production for 'Billions' is expected to begin in New York in early 2015.
