Boy George has revealed the alleged drug use at the Brit Awards 2014, claiming to have heard a "chorus of snorting" in the toilets during the show's ad breaks. George, 52, suggested that despite rebranding , venue changes and extravagant performances, the often derided awards show remains the same.

"As I took a leak at The Brit's I could hear a chorus of snorting! We have always called the Ad breaks 'the coke run'. It's still the case'" tweeted the singer after Wednesday's show (February 19, 2014).

Boy George also took the opportunity to defend his controversial choice of eye make-up, which some critics had branded inappropriate given it made it appear as though the singer was bleeding from a facial wound. "Tasteless? Yet worth a whole lot of comment! ??" he said.

Elsewhere, Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw has  admitted that he already told Ellie Goulding that she had won best British female prior to the live show at London's O2 Arena and that Prince would be presenting the prize.

"I knew who was winning British female. I saw Ellie the night before, and I said: "You've got this.Prince is gonna give you your award," he said.

The Arctic Monkeys were the big winners at the Brits 2014, taking home Best British album for the critically acclaimed A.M and Best British Group.

The Sheffield quartet opened the show, which also featured performances from Beyonce, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry.
