Snoop Dogg was given the honour of introducing Cyrus in Manchester, who was dressed as some sort of gold bird. She harmonized with Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, who also went for a pretty epic looking outfit.

Cyrus and Coyne have a longstanding relationship, with the latter dropping in on the pop star's recent shows in Los Angeles so the two could collaborate on a version of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. They've also been spending time together in the studio and the pair's version of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is currently available via iTunes and is the first single from the Lips' Beatles cover album.

The album, titled With a Little Help From My Fwends, is the latest of the Flaming Lips covers series - they previously re-did Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Their last collaborative album, The Flaming Lips & Heady Fwends, featured vocals from Ke$ha, Bon Iver, Yoko Ono, Erykah Badu and Nick Cave. The Beatles record is available to pre-order now and will feature various collaborations, though only Cyrus and Moby have been announced.
