The search engine Bing is looking back on the year 2013.

On Monday (Dec 2nd) Bing released a list of the most searched celebrities in the US of 2013, naming American singer Beyoncé No.1.

The 32 year-old beat 2012's winner, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who came in second place.

2013 saw the return of Beyoncé to the top of the music industry after taking some time away from the spotlight to care for her and husband Jay Z's daughter, Blue Ivy.

The 'Halo' singer began the year by singing the national anthem at Barack Obama's second presidential inauguration in January.

Follow this, Beyoncé performed at one of the year's most watched events in the world, the Super Bowl Halftime Show, which saw a brief Destiny's Child reunion. This performance also kicked-off the global 'The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour', which ends on Dec 22nd.

The 'Crazy In Love' singer, known for her privacy, also starred in her own HBO documentary, 'Life Is But A Dream', which was released on February 16th 2013.

Kim, the star of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians', landed in 2nd place after her own big year. The Kardashian sister gave birth to her first child, North West, with beau Kanye West, who asked her hand in marriage in one of the most elaborate proposals ever!

The 33 year-old topped the list in 2012 and 2010.

This year's list was dominated by women as pop-singer's Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Madonna all finished in the top 5. Only two male celebrities featured in the top ten, Justin Bieber finished at No. 6 and President Barack Obama landed in the 10th position.
