Did Ben Affleck get hit with a blackjack ban after alleged 'card counting'?
Actor Ben Affleck has reportedly been barred from a Las Vegas casino after he was allegedly caught counting cards during a game of blackjack.
Ben Affleck was said to be 'counting cards' in a Las Vegas game
Affleck was enjoying a game at the high rollers’ table of the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas when security suspected him of using the strategy. Although card counting is not illegal, it can get a player barred from the game.
The incident was said to have happened shortly after 10pm on Tuesday, when an alert sent out by the casino stated that Affleck “uses perfect basis”, a common tern for card counting. In the alert, published by Radar, Affleck is said to be “currently suspected of advantage play,” adding that he “also takes insurance according to the count.”

The hotel staff are reported to have been polite to Affleck telling him, “you are too good at the game.” An original report by TMZ stated that Affleck was barred for life, however Fox reports that the actor is still welcome in the hotel and he was just banned from playing blackjack. A representative for the hotel is said to have stated yesterday that "Mr. Affleck, a valued guest of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, is not banned from our property and is welcome back any time."
Affleck was said to be holidaying with wife Jennifer Garner
Affleck, a known fan of gambling, has also played one on the big screen, in last year’s Runner Runner. Starring opposite Justin Timberlake, Affleck played an online gambling tycoon who is later captured by the FBI for illegal activity.
He is said to have been on a short vacation to Vegas with his wife Jennifer Garner when the incident took place. The couple were spending time together before he left to shoot the upcoming, as yet untitled, Batman vs Superman movie where he will play the caped crusader opposite Henry Cavill.
