Al Pacino has laughed off the idea of watching movies on iPhones.
Al Pacino, the 74-year-old Oscar winner who stunned Venice audiences with his performance in Manglehorn, has ridiculed the idea of watching movies on smart phones. Pacino was in London to accept a fellowship from the British Film Institute when he made the remarks about the changes in how fans consume movies.

"I think if you put any movie on a big screen I will love it. Who wants to watch movies on an iPhone? I'm so tired of that," he told the gathered crowd at the Corinthia Hotel.
The veteran actor told of how he watched his new movie, The Humbling, on a big screen and noticed details he had not seen first time round. Pacino noted that a huge amount of dramatic quality can now be found on the small-screen, though warned, ".but you can't do Lawrence Of Arabia on cable. It's not the same experience".

The fellowship was previously awarded to legendary figures including Martin Scorsese, Orson Welles, Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes and Pacino described it as a "great honour." Speaking in front of distinguished guests including John Hurt and Terry Gilliam, the actor said: "The BFI is a wonderful thing, how it keeps films alive. I'm overwhelmed. People I've adored have received this award. This is such a classy place. I knew it would be. This is London."
Based on the Phillip Roth novel of the same name, The Humbling stars Al Pacino as an aged and addled actor whose world is turned upside down after he embarks upon an affair with a lesbian. It has an excellent supporting cat including Greta Gerwig and Kyra Sedgwick.
