The ex-girlfriend of actor Armand Assante's grand larceny case has been adjourned until later this month (Nov14) after she failed to reach a plea deal over allegations she made fraudulent purchases on Josh Brolin's credit card.

Brazilian native Giselle Oliveira stands accused of stealing the No Country For Old Men star's American Express card details and racking up $40,000 (£25,000) in clothing charges between October, 2010 and January, 2013.

She is also facing accusations of shoplifting around $10,000 (£6,250)-worth of goods from top department store Saks Fifth Avenue.

Oliveira, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, returned to Manhattan Criminal Court with her lawyer on Monday (10Nov14) for a brief meeting with prosecutors in front of Judge Michael Obus.

However, the two sides failed to agree on a suitable deal and the judge postponed the matter until 25 November (14), reports the New York Daily News.

Brolin's representative previously insisted the Oscar nominee had no recollection of ever meeting Oliveira.
