Arlene Phillips has ruled out having a facelift because she's too scared of needles.

The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge, 72 - who has undergone Botox and fillers in the past - would love to have cosmetic surgery on her face but is put off by the procedure.

Asked if she would have a facelift, she told MailOnline's FEMAIL: ''If I wasn't so afraid of needles and anaesthetics I would have everything done!''

Although she isn't against going under the knife, the brunette beauty has admitted she tends to lean towards non-invasive resources to help her maintain her youthful look.

She explained: ''I regularly exercise - I love to swim and cycle in particular. And above all, I make sure to eat healthily. My secret weapon is my daughter Alana who is always on hand to do my make-up.''

And Arlene - who has spent most of her life in front of the camera - believes she has much more confidence now than she did when she was in her early 20s.

She said: ''I feel more confident now than I did when I was younger. I wish I'd had more confidence in myself in my 20s - you are much more talented and better looking than you think. I do think there's too much pressure and emphasis on how women look on TV, and in the media in general.''
