Fact: DJ David Guetta and hip hop stars Run-DMC are set to co-headline the Friday night of Britain's Isle of Wight Festival in June (17). They join previously-announced headliners Rod Stewart and Arcade Fire.

Fact: Rod Stewart will close the 2017 Isle of Wight Festival in the U.K. with a headlining slot on 11 June (17). The Maggie May crooner joins previously-announced headliners Arcade Fire, who will play on the previous evening (10Jun17). The annual music festival runs from 8 to 11 June (17).

Fact: Arcade Fire frontman WIN BUTLER made an unannounced appearance on stage in his native Canada to sing with U.S. group Future Islands on Friday (12Jun15). Butler joined the band at their gig in Burlington and sang a few lines of their hit Seasons (Waiting On You) before walking off stage.


17th July 2014

Fact: Arcade Fire have added Devo, Television and Pulp star Steve MACkey to their ongoing Reflektor tour. Devo will support the group at dates in California and Illinois, while punk icons Television will perform at an Arcade Fire show in New York.

Fact: Arcade Fire and Drake are on the long list of nominees for Canada's Polaris Music Prize. The shortlist of 10 albums will be announced on 15 July (15) and the winner will be unveiled on 22 September (14).

Fact: Canadian rockers Arcade Fire have given fans an early Christmas treat after announcing they will headline the first night of Britain's legendary Glastonbury Festival next year (27Jun14). The stars broke the news to devotees on their Twitter.com blog on Thursday (19Dec13) by uploading a photo of a blackboard with the date and venue listed as one of their upcoming shows, alongside the caption, "Next year, one week in June".

Fact: Bono, James Franco, Ben Stiller and Aziz Ansari were among the famous faces who made cameo appearances in Arcade Fire's U.S. Tv special, Here Comes The Night, this weekend (28-29Sep13). The 30-minute show featured footage of the Canadian rockers' recent performance in Salsatheque in Montreal and was directed by Roman Coppola.

Fact: Canadian rockers Arcade Fire proved they were game for a laugh during an appearance on U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live this weekend (28Sep13) by taking part in a sketch called New Cast Member or Arcade Fire?. The segment featured guest host and former Snl regular Tina Fey as she tried to distinguish between singer Regine Chassagne and comedienne Noel Wells, musician Richard Parry and funnyman Kyle Mooney, and frontman Win Butler and programme newcomer Mike O'Brien, who both had to put on their best Robert De Niro impressions.

Fact: Arcade Fire have signed on to score moviemaker Spike Jonze's new film Her, which stars Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara and Amy Adams. Jones directed the band's short film Scenes from The Suburbs in 2011.

Fact: Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler will become the Rolling Stones' latest special guest when he joins the rockers onstage at their 50 and Counting tour stop in Montreal, Canada on Sunday (09Jun13). Sir Mick Jagger and his bandmates have previously welcomed the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Sheryl Crow as duet partners for various dates across North America.

Fact: Arcade Fire and Celine Dion are teaming up to perform at a benefit gig honouring a lighting technician who worked for both acts. Denis Blanchette was the victim of a fatal shooting incident at an election-night party for Canada's Parti Quebecois earlier this month (Sep12). The two Canadian acts will join Patrick Watson and Coeur De Pirate onstage at the Metropolis in Montreal on 1 October (12).

Fact: Canadian rockers Arcade Fire have teamed up with Talking Heads frontman David Byrne to record a new song. The collaboration, titled Speaking In Tongues, will appear on a re-release of the band's 2010 album, The Suburbs.

Fact: Married Arcade Fire stars WIN BUTLER and Regine Chassagne wrote HEADLIGHTS LOOK LIKE DIAMONDS on their first date after meeting in 2001. The song later appeared on the band's first self-titled EP.


4th February 2010

Fact: Cult rockers Arcade Fire will donate the money they make from a new licensing deal with the National Football League in America over the Super Bowl weekend (06-07Feb09) to the Haiti relief effort. NFL bosses have agreed to pay the band handsomely for the use of its Wake Up tune and the group plans to donate all the cash it makes to charity Partners in Health.

Fact: Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has confirmed The Who are to perform at this year (07)'s Glastonbury festival. Other acts set to appear at the English musical extravaganza include Bjork, Arctic Monkeys and Arcade Fire.
