SIR Anthony Hopkins hopes his childhood friends and relatives see his dancing scenes in new movie THE HUMAN STAIN - because it will prove he's not a "moron" after all.

The movie star has to dance with Gary Sinise in the new movie and he was more nervous about stepping out in those scenes than filming sex scenes with Nicole Kidman.

He says, "I didn't think I could do it. When I was a student I was told I was a motor-moron, that I couldn't dance. I hate dancing, quite honestly. I think I was embarrassed by it as a

little kid.

"It's such an exercise in futility. They got us this dance choreographer from New York and I said, 'I don't know how to

do this.'

"I'm built like a carthorse and I'm not the most graceful man in the world, but I thought, 'Hell, let's do it.' I think it turned out alright."
