Angels And Airwaves We Don't Need to Whisper Single

A new punk supergroup? Yes, that's right –or is it? Tom Delonge, he of Blink 182 fame, together with assorted members of The Distillers, The Offspring and Box Car Racer has put together this debut offering, and my, what a slick, grandiose affair it is. Tom obviously has well honed production skills, since this album literally sounds huge.

Vocally you cannot help but conjure up memories of Blink 182, but this is no bratty piece of pop punk. There is a welcome maturity to this sound, and a more mature, gentle nature than perhaps you would expect from the members' previous backgrounds. Sweeping, grandiose melodies and soaring choruses abound, with "Distraction" and "The Adventure" being standout tracks.

Want to know what happens when punkers grow up? Listen to "We Don't Need to Whisper" and find out. A pleasant treat indeed.
