The film portrays a very normal couple whose relationship becomes very intense when they each find out their spouse's secret, they are both assassins for secret agencies. Things become even more complicated when Pitt and Jolie find out their new targets are each other, but as the film progresses so does their love for each other, and instead of finishing their mission they decide to join forces.

Following this, Jolie portrayed spies in 2008's 'Wanted' and 2010'd 'Salt', but she also delved into drama-based roles with 'A Mighty Heart' (2007) and 'Changeling' (2008), which earned her another nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress.

However, 'Maleficent' is the first time Jolie has taken on such a dark, fiction al character, and as critics are already unanimously praising her portrayal, this may be her best work as of yet. 'Maleficent' hits theatres on May 30th 2014.
