Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's upcoming film, By the Sea, will be released in November. The couple have not been seen on screen together since Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005. Jolie and Pitt met on the set and soon after began a relationship. Hopefully, in the decade since Mr. & Mrs. Smith, they have retained their brilliant on-screen chemistry.

In By the Sea, Jolie and Pitt play a married couple travelling through France. The film is set in the mid 1970s and follows an American author, Roland (Pitt), and his wife Vanessa (Jolie), a former dancer. Their relationship appears to be on the rocks when they stop at a quiet seaside town and encounter a number of other travellers and the local villagers. Jolie and Pitt are supported in their roles by Mélanie Laurent, Melvil Poupaud, Niels Arestrup and Richard Bohringer.

"This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance," says Jolie in a statement, as USA Today reports. "It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew."

Jolie has written, directed and produced By the Sea. She has previously directed A Place in Time (2007), In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011) and Unbroken (2014). She also had a producer credit for all three films. By the Sea is the second film she has written as she also wrote the script for In the Land of Blood and Honey. Her previous films have generally garnered positive reviews although Unbroken, which was released almost a year ago, received a mixed response from critics.

By the Sea will be released on 13th November 2013 in the US.
