Andy Garcia and Vera Farmiga turned their new romantic comedy into a family affair by inviting relatives to join the cast.

Farmiga's younger sister Taissa plays her student daughter in the film, At Middleton, and Garcia's daughter Daniella Garcia-Lorido also has a role.

It's not the first time the actresses have joined their more famous relatives onscreen - Farmiga, who is 21 years Vera's junior, played The Conjuring star's character as a teenager in Higher Ground, while Garcia-Lorido was cast opposite her dad in The Lost City and 1999's Just The Ticket.

The new film chronicles a romantic encounter between two struggling single parents who meet on a campus tour of Middleton College.
