It’s all over between Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield… Again!
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have reportedly split up and it’s for good this time. A source close to the couple, speaking to a U.S. media outlet, confirmed the couple split up a couple of months ago but are still on good terms.

This harrowing morality play is timely and riveting, but never remotely subtle. The setting is the mortgage crisis, during which savvy fast-talkers figured out how to make a fortune on the back of other people's tragedy. It's strikingly written and directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Ramin Bahrani with an attention to internalised detail, revealing an aspect of Western culture that's deeply disturbing.
It's 2010, and the economy is in freefall as families and small businesses struggle to survive. When Florida builder Dennis (Andrew Garfield) loses his job, he has no idea how he'll support his mother and son (Laura Dern and Noah Lomax). Unable to pay their inflated mortgage, they're evicted from the family home by ruthless estate agent Rick (Michael Shannon). Then Rick sees something in Dennis that he admires, and hires him to do some building work, eventually taking him under his wing and teaching him how to profit from the record number of repossessions. But this means taking advantage of government grants, banking loopholes and people whose lives have collapsed. And it isn't long before it starts eating away at Dennis.
Garfield gives an open, searching performance as this desperate young father who's grasping at any lifeline he can find for his family. It's a complex, difficult character, mainly because his moral dithering sits in contrast to Shannon's flashier, shark-like Rick, who's often scary in the way he's able to avoid empathising with people in pain. In a much smaller role, Dern is the polar opposite, a warm blast of straight-arrow morality who continually prods her son to do the right thing. Yes, these characters are somewhat constructed as three points in a triangle, but they beautifully highlight the issues involved. And the actors dig deep into the emotional ramifications.

The screen veteran, who is appearing in 'Ant-Man' this month, was talking about the state of the movie industry in America, also commenting on Dustin Hoffman's recent remarks.
Michael Douglas has bemoaned what he calls a “crisis” in the American movie industry, based on diminishing opportunities given to home-grown actors ahead of their British and Australian counterparts which he believes is down to their pre-occupation with social media and image instead of formal training.
He believes that young British actors are more likely to take acting school seriously and learn their profession the old-fashioned way, while Australian male stars are more overtly “masculine” in their image than U.S. actors.
70 year old Douglas said to The Independent: “There's something going on with young American actors - both men and women - because the Brits and Australians are taking many of the best American roles from them.”
The bosses over at Sony seem to have some very specific rules for Peter Parker and his alter-ego.
If you’ve ever thought Spider-Man on the big screen was just a little too boring or ‘safe’, then we could just be about to explain why. In the latest round of leaked Sony emails the long list of contractual obligations that the Spider-Man character allegedly must meet for film is revealed, including that he must always be white, male and heterosexual.
Andrew Garfield played the most recent incarnation of Spider-man on the big screen.
The published emails reportedly start by listing the superhero’s ‘mandatory character traits’, which the character ‘must always strictly conform to’. The list includes him being a white, male who does not abuse alcohol, does not smoke tobacco, does not sell/distribute illegal drugs, does not use foul language beyond PG-13, does not have sex before the age of 16 and is not a homosexual.
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield's 'break' may be over as the couple were spotted enjoying lunch together and looking cosy earlier this week.
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield may be back together - properly! The news that the two were "on a break" (cue Friends impressions) left fans of the couple devastated when it was confirmed by multiple sources back in April. Their 'break' reportedly stemmed from the physical distance between them because of their different filming schedules. However, it seems their split was short lived as Garfield and Stone were spotted together in California this week.

The landscape has shifted with the agreement, which will see Marvel get to include the web-slinging hero in one of its movies for the first time since 1999.
Spider-Man will be included in an upcoming Marvel title for the first time in nearly two decades, and that film is reported to be next year’s Captain America: Civil War.
Variety reported that, in essence, the deal will work out cheaply for both parties. Effectively, neither studio will receive a cut from the proceeds of the other studio’s useage of the Spiderman character in future movies. Without the deal, Disney (which owns Marvel) would have to part with millions in order to use him.

The next Spider-Man movie will be a joint project between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel Studios, with Kevin Feige and Sony's outgoing chairman Amy Pascal signing on as producers.
Andrew Garfield will likely carry on as Spider-Man in Marvel's future projects for the character
Under the new deal, Spider-Man will next appear in a Marvel movie that is part of the studio's cinematic universe, with The Amazing Spider-Man 3 - or whatever it's going to be called - which will be released on July 28, 2017.

Could Spider-Man appear in Captain America 3?
Sony could go back into negotiations with Marvel concerning the Spider-Man character following the departure of Amy Pascal as chairman. It is probable that Sony Pictures chairman-CEO Michael Lynton will tinker with projects include The Amazing Spider-Man 3 but sequels to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo are very much in doubt.
Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has been pushed back until 2018
The biggest decision will indeed by how to handle the Spider-Man franchise. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 did decent business at the box-office but was slaughtered by the critics. There had been talks of letting Marvel Studios take some control of the direction of the character and with Pascal out of the picture, Sony may be open to renegotiating with the superhero studio, according to Variety.

Spider-Man could have been heading across to Marvel for 'Captain America: Civil War'.
The Sony leak has thrown up plenty of interesting titbits in recent weeks - there was Fury and Annie arriving online (the latter before it had hit cinemas), there was Scott Rudin's takedown of Angelina Jolie and now, the revelation that Marvel tried to get Spider-Man involved in Captain America: Civil War.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with Andrew Garfield, was ripped apart by the critics upon release
Correspondence sent by Sony chief Amy Pascal reveals Marvel's approach about including Spider-Man in the third Captain America movie, Civil Wars, which is due for release in 2016. The superhero - currently played by Andrew Garfield in the recently rebooted series - plays a key role in the 2006 comic book storyline, though Sony holds the licensing rights to produce the films.

Bad news for fans of Spidey: there will be no new film featuring him until 2018.
The Amazing Spider 3 starring Andrew Garfield as the heroic webslinger was set to hit cinemas in 2016, but the title has been pushed back another years so audiences will have to wait a fair amount longer before the follow up to the second film, which came out earlier this year.

Emma and Andrew were reportedly seen ring shopping in New York together last week
A source told Star Magazine: “They were looking for a loose emerald-shaped stone. They want to design an engagement ring together.” Nothing has been confirmed yet, but in the meantime it seems as though the couple will be moving in together in Los Angeles. It’s rumoured that they have been looking to buy a $10.5 million home together in the city. That’s just a cool $5.25 million each, so we doubt it will be anything too fancy. The Daily Star reported: “Andrew has been looking for somewhere in LA for ages but he believes he has now found a place that is perfect for them."
