Amy Adams wants her daughter to have a ''strong sense of self''.

The 'American Hustle' star has three year old Aviana Olea Le Gallo with her fiancé Darren Le Gallo and hopes their daughter will have a very strong sense of her own identity when she's older.

The actress' desire stems from the fact she didn't visit New York City until she was 24 and spent much of her younger years moving from base to base since her father, Richard Kent, was a military man.

Amy, 39, explained to British Vanity Fair magazine: ''Everything was new to me as an adult. Everything was mine. I owned everything that I did. Very few things were because of my upbringing ... so I have a real strong sense of self and a sense of accomplishment, and I want my daughter to have that.''

Her daughter has many of her own traits, including inheriting Amy's passion for musicals, and knows the words to ''an impossible number of songs''.
