Holly Humberstone - Sleep Tight Music Video

  • 30 April 2022

Holly Humberstone takes time out of her very busy schedule, touring with Olivia Rodrigo in the U.S, to drop her new single - 'Sleep Tight'. BRIT award winner Holly is riding the crest of an ever building wave as she wows audiences state side ahead of a return to the U.K where she will play BBC Radio 1's 'Big Weekend and Finsbury Park with George Ezra before support slots with Florence + The Machine and Gorillaz in Europe.

'Scarlett' singer Humberstone co-wrote her latest track with The 1975's frontman Matt Healy and longtime collaborator Rob Milton. Holly previously collaborated with Healy on the track - 'Please Don’t Leave Just Yet', which featured on her second EP - 'The Walls Are Way Too Thin'.

Holly explained the origins of her latest track in a recent press statement when she said - "It’s awkward trying to navigate catching feelings for a friend, as they are often feelings we might have been suppressing for some time...When they float to the surface, you have to weigh up the risks of getting hurt and potentially losing them in your life. I wrote ‘Sleep Tight’ about the uncertainty of friendships evolving into something more. The first summer out of lockdown was pretty crazy for my friends and I because we finally had our freedom back and acted like we had nothing to lose. This song takes me back to that time of what felt like no consequences and impending heartbreak."

Humberstone, who is yet to release a full length album, has described her 'SOUR' tour dates with 'Driving Licence' artist Rodrigo as "unreal", commenting on her Instagram page that - "I feel so lucky I get to be here". American audiences certainly seem to be going wild for the 22 year old from Grantham, Lincolnshire.

'Sleep Tight' is Holly's third release of 2022 and follows her first single of the year - 'London Is Lonely' and more recently - 'I Would Die 4 U'. All three of her 2022 singles are expected to appear on her debut album which is set to drop later this year.
