Drake Drops Brand New Track '0 To 100 / The Catch Up', And Teases New Album

  • 03 June 2014

Drake shared his latest track, '0 to 100 / The Catch Up,' on Sunday (June 1st), and also teased fans with a possible album release for spring 2015.

The song, which was dropped on the Canadian rapper's OVO SoundCloud page, hints at a follow-up album from 2013's hit 'Nothing Was The Same' with the following lyrics;

"Listen up boy you're better off eavesdroppin'/ We already got spring 2015 poppin'/ PND dropping, Reps Up P' dropping, Majid Jordan dropping, OB dropping, not to mention me dropping."

Throughout the track, Drake raps over a minimal beat co-produced by Boi-1da, Noah "40" Shebib and Ninteen85.

Fans will also be introduced to a more confident, and maybe cocky, artist, as he spits, "If I'm not the greatest, then I'm headed for it," before bragging about having a better jump shot than NBA star Stephen Curry.

The 27 year-old previewed small snippets of '0 to 100' over the past several weeks, and his decision to release it on Sunday may have had something to do with 'Summer Jam 2014.'

During one of hip-hop's biggest nights, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Drake only appeared as Nicki Minaj's guest, and maybe he wanted to let fans know why he should have had a solo slot.

This latest song follows on from Drake dropping 'Draft Day' this past April, in which he seemed to target music mogul Jay-Z, who dissed him on the track 'We Made It.'
