China Rats - To Be Like I Music Video

Leeds quartet China Rats have already brewed up a healthy stew of support from the likes of Radio One's Huw Stevens and BBC 6 Music DJ Tom Robinson and are now set to release their debut single, 'To Be Like I,' through Once Upon A Time Records at the end of April.

The video uses nostalgic camera techniques to capture the band as they tour the viewer around East London, the stylistics in the video suiting the style of the band to a tee. The song is very much a semi-autobiographical account of every single man who has been on a night out; no matter how suave you think you look and how convinced you are to bring a barge pole out with you to ward of the inevitable swarms of women, once you're out no one seems to be very interested at all. As lead singer Graeme Thomson explains, many of the song the group produce are "self explanatory" and these relatable lyrics and 50's influenced guitar jangle might just be what the next Generation X needs in place of the now disbanded Oasis.

The band will be soon announcing a string of shows in support of the release of the To Be Like I EP and are already confirmed acts for the upcoming Live At Leeds showcase on May 5th.
