Villagers' new single, 'Cecilia & Her Selfhood' is available to download from the band's website. It follows on from the band's debut album, 'Becoming A Jackal', which was released through Domino Records (Arctic Monkeys; Franz Ferdinand; The Kills) in May 2010 to critical acclaim.

The video for Cecilia & Her Selfhood is a spellbinding animated short film that loosely follows the plot of the dark, yet haunting, song. It was animated by Adrian Merigeau, who is also known for his work with Tomm Moore, Jennifer Evans and Our Little Secrets.

Conor J. O'Brien; Cormac Curran; Danny Snow; James Byrne and Tommy McLaughlin make up Irish band Villagers, which was formed in 2008. During their career they have supported acts like Tracy Chapman and Neil Young, as well as Elbow. They have also appeared on music show 'Later... With Jools Holland', alongside well known acts such as Marina and the Diamonds; Hot Chip; Paul Rodgers and Paul Weller.

Villagers' single 'Becoming A Jackal', taken from the album of the same name, received the prestigious Ivor Novello award for 'Best Song Musically and Lyrically' in 2011.
