Nick Hendricks (a management candidate), Kurt Buckman (an accountant) and Dale Arbus (a dental assistant) are three best friends who love their jobs. However, for the three of them, there is just one thing coming between them and their happiness - their evil bosses.

Nick's boss, Dave Harken, likes to manipulate his employees and tease Nick with a promotion he will never get. Kurt's boss, Bobby Pellit, has recently taken over his company from his dad, who died suddenly and Bobby is quick to undo all the hard work that was put in, such as funnelling toxic waste into an unwary population. Dale's boss, Dr. Julia Harris, is relentless in her attempts to sexually harass him.

One night, while having drinks with an ex-con, Dean Jones, the three friends decide that they have no other option but to kill their respective bosses. They hire Dean to help them in their plans, but they soon find out that plotting to murder someone is easier said than done.
