Amanda Seyfried would rather have her dog than a ''suitor''.

The 'Lovelace' actress is happily single and gets all the company she needs from her pet pooch, Finn.

In an interview with The Times newspaper, she said: ''I'm single. I'm just happy being alone and having a dog. Instead of a f***ing suitor.''

Amanda, 27, is a huge fan of taxidermy and while she has an assortment of stuffed animals at home, wouldn't like to see Finn mounted after he dies.

She added: ''If it's done well, taxidermy is a beautiful thing. I love animals, so there's nothing creepy about it for me. I would never taxidermy my dog, because I love him. But there's no attachment to my horse, my chicken or my wolf. I didn't know them but I know them now.''

The star got her first big break starring opposite Lindsay Lohan in 'Mean Girls', but is glad her career took a while to take off as she wasn't ready for fame when she was still a teenager.

She explained: ''When fame comes too early, it can be dangerous.''

When asked if she was referring to Lindsay - who was a child star before running into numerous problems with alcohol and drugs, leading to her being jailed on several occasions and most recently being ordered by a judge to go to rehab - she said: ''Absolutely. We started shooting 'Mean Girls' ad she was getting paid a million bucks, and running her own show on set, and I could see how that kind of attention can warp someone's perspective on everything around them, including themselves.''
