In “where are they now” news this week, Amanda Bynes has found herself on the receiving end of a DUI. But wait – Amanda Bynes has been in treatment, working on her mental health, and DUIs are a fairly common thing anyway, so what’s all the fuss about?

This is Bynes' first run-in with the law, since she settled her DUI in January.

Well, the now retired actress is suspected of driving under the influence of illegal substances, aka drugs, when she was pulled over on Sunday morning by a California Highway Patrol officer. According to the New York Daily News, Bynes had been driving alone in a 2013 white Mercedes ML350 about 3:30 a.m. After being pulled over, she was asked to take a drug test and she couldn’t complete a series of hand-eye coordination tasks.

"She ran a red light and stopped in the middle of (a) T-shaped intersection. Our officer observed her, and she appeared under the influence. She was unable to complete field sobriety tests, at which point she was taken to our station," CHP spokesman Leland Tang told the Daily News.

It should be noted here, that Bynes is only suspected of having taken illicit substances. According to Tang, the toxicology report should come through in the next 30 to 60 days. The last time Bynes generated a major news story was in January, when she entered a no-jail plea deal in her southern California DUI case.
