Aloud - Aloud - Album Review

Aloud

French duo Aloud release their self titled album after some well received releases singles like ‘Bob O’Lean’ and ‘Sex & Sun’. These two singles fit really well with the rest of the album. My original critique of ‘Sex & Sun’ being too flaky as a single is actually quite wrong placed when we see it in the full context of the album. It provides an uplifting happy feel to what is quite a complicated and progressive album. Other tracks such as ‘Sex & Sun Part III’ and ‘Undersea’ are deeper and more trance orientated which provides music for the more seasoned clubber. However you’ve also got a track like ‘Nevermind’, that is a well-orchestrated song, and could appeal to many a chart happy person.

Aloud - Aloud - Album Review

Aloud have found a winning formula with this album as they have remained true to their love of dance music and have stuck to their influences but they have also created a well-rounded album of songs that could have strong crossover appeal. There’s a charm and soothing ease to pretty much all the tracks that makes the tunes easy to understand and nice to listen to. This album is progressive, intelligent, well programmed and the vocals add definite character to it. It uplifting, easy to digest and has a good feel to it.
