Susan Lucci has defended herself against allegations she's to blame for the cancellation of long-running U.S. soap opera All My Children, calling the rumours "simply untrue".
Bosses at production company Prospect Park announced earlier this year (11) that they would make new episodes of the cancelled daytime series for an online TV network.
However, fans were let down when the plans were scrapped, amid rumours Lucci had refused to commit to the project.
Now Lucci has dismissed the speculation, insisting she was more than willing to revive her role as Erica Kane for the web reboot.
In a post on her page, she writes, "This is simply untrue and not the case. We have been in discussions since Prospect Park first expressed interest in moving the series online, and in correspondence dated September 8th, I made it clear that I would be ecstatic to be a part of All My Children in a prominent way if they committed to producing the series for another year."
The actress insists she then "learned of their decision not to proceed with All My Children at the same time you did, through the media".
All My Children went off air in September (11) after 41 years.
