Alkaline Trio continue to stand out from the crowd of emo/indie/rock n rollers. Burn is lifted from their current album Crimson and, reflecting their sonic mission to create 'lyrical hell and pop heaven', it's a perfect pop/punk (ponk?) single. Energetic, heartfelt and brimming with melodic, hooky goodness. Not satisfied with the Jerry Finn (Green Day/Blink 182) produced version? There are three diverse remixes on here too. Rancid's Tim Armstrong provides, oddly, a deliciously dreamy trip hop interpretation, 65daysofstatic distort and flex the original into a whole new shape, and Test Icicles go all reggae on us.
