Alec Baldwin was booted from a plane at Los Angeles International Airport for using his phone to play a word game. After the altercation, Alec Baldwin set up a Twitter tirade against the American Airlines flight attendant who kicked him off.
The flight was about to depart for New York when the actor was playing a game called 'Words with Friends', according to Baldwin's spokesman Matthew Hiltzik. Hiltzik amusingly stated: 'He loves `Words with Friends' so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it'. The game consists of players competing online to score the most points in building words on a game board. Being naturally an avid Twitter user, Baldwin later tweeted: 'A flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing Words With Friends while we sat at the gate, not moving.' He further stated that it would be his last flight with American Airlines even though ironically they show "30 Rock" for their in-flight entertainment. Further mocking the attendant, he said that the airline is 'where Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants.'
American Airlines spokesman Ed Martelle has declined to make a comment, reinforcing customer privacy concerns, whilst airport police Sgt. Belinda Nettles said that officers did not respond to the incident. Baldwin is currently playing the role of executive Jack Donaghy on '30 Rock'. Alec Baldwin will appear in the musical film adaptation 'Rock of Ages' later this year.
