Michael Keaton May Reprise His Role As The Eponymous Bio-Exorcist In 'Beetlejuice 2'

Beetlejuice Michael Keaton Winona Ryder Alec Baldwin Geena Davis Tim Burton

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetle... For fans of the 1988 comedy, repeating the name of the mischievous bio-exorcist three times is not something one should take lightly. Especially if you're dead! Although Beetlejuice has been banished to the waiting room of death, he may be heading back to earth as Michael Keaton has revealed he is in contact with Tim Burton, the original film's director.

Keaton starred as Beetlejuice in the 1988 supernatural comedy, centred on a deceased couple who attempt to regain possession of their house once a living family move in. Geena Davies and Alec Baldwin play the ghostly couple who request Beetlejuice's help and after a number of complications, including Beetlejuice's attempted elopement with the family's daughter (Winona Ryder), successfully regain control of their home. Ryder is also rumoured to be reprising her role.

Keaton, speaking to MTV, discussed the possibility of a second film at the Robocop junket in Los Angeles on Thursday (13th February). Although rumours of a sequel have been circulating since 2012 when it was revealed Seth Grahame-Smith was working on a script for Beetlejuice 2, Keaton has not mentioned the possibility of his involvement before. In the interview he said "I've e-mailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff. I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another."

Alec Baldwin's Alleged Stalker Gives Her Side Of The Story, After Being Arrested For Contempt Of Court

Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin broke down in tears when he took to the stand earlier this week to testify against Genevieve Sabourin, the woman he is alleging had stalked him and harassed both him and his wife for years. On Wednesday, 13 November, it was Genevieve's time to take to the stand at the Manhattan Criminal Court and give her side of the story, one that was significantly different to the account Alec had given earlier.

The aspiring French-Canadian actress claims that her affair with Alec began in February 2010, when the actor escorted her on a romantic, day-long date around New York City, which was followed by months of letter exchanges that suggested Baldwin had genuine feelings for Sabourin. The 41-year-old defendant went on to describe a month-long telephone correspondance between the two, one that was heavy with flirting, which eventually led to the pair meeting up in the Big Apple, the New York Times reports.

“He’s a professional charmer, he’s the best in the world,” she told the court, reminiscing the supposed meet-up they had. She claimed that their weekend together began with a drive through Central Park, after which Baldwin took her to see a popular Broadway play before heading to the glitzy Elio’s Restaurant, where they shared an intimate meal. Sabourin then claimed that the night ended when he took her to the Hotel Lowell, where the two had sexual intercourse, she claims. She testified, “It was a beautiful, romantic evening.”

Seduced And Abandoned Review

Excellent

Anyone interested in how movies get made will love this feisty behind-the-scenes documentary, which uses sharp comedy to explore the messy business side of cinema. Both smart and very funny, it may not tell us much that we don't know (mainly that it's almost impossible to get a film financed unless it's a blockbuster with bankable stars), but it reveals things in ways that make us wonder about the future of the movies.

The film follows actor Alec Baldwin and director James Toback as they head to the Cannes Film Festival to secure funding for their planned Iraq-set riff on Last Tango in Paris. They meet with a variety of experts who tell them that their hoped-for budget is three times too high for a movie starring Baldwin and Neve Campbell. So they talk to Chastain, Bejo and Kruger about taking over the lead role. They also consult with a range of prominent filmmakers including Scorsese, Coppola, Polanski and the Last Tango maestro himself, Bertolucci. But the more time they spend with the people who control the money, the more they wonder if their movie will ever get made.

It's fairly clear from the start that Last Tango in Tikrit is a joke project, but everyone takes it seriously. And as they talk to prospective investors, Baldwin and Toback consider adjusting the film to get more cash by, for example, shooting scenes in Russia or China. It's fascinating to hear these billionaires offer advice on how to get their movie made. And hilariously, no one worries about Baldwin's insistence that the story requires explicit sexual scenes.

It was a great lead in to the show - one that could have been better if it wasn't for Cyrus' poorly received butting-in and tongue joke - as the three joked around, shared tips (Alec is a 15-time presenter on the show) and plugged whatever new ventures they have on the horizon (for Baldwin, it was his new MSNBC show, whilst Miley talked about her 2014 tour). And for such an amusing lead, the show even managed to keep up the funny until the end, a sad rarity for recent shows.

Alec Baldwin is a man of many talents; he’s a comedian, a writer, a podcaster and a presenter. So it’s no surprise that his debut on MSNBC’s new ‘Up Late’ program went by without a hitch with Baldwin anchoring things. His first guest: New York City mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio.

In-between throwing questions on job creation, income inequality and how de Blasio has dealt with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Balwdin’s cadence was professional with a hint of the jovial, as his cheeky demeanor always suggests. Discussion soon turned to de Blasio's views on legalizing marijuana and New York's Stop-and-Frisk police policies.

And buying into the idea of a ‘chat’ show, Baldwin did just that; he chatted, offering up anecdotes and stories of his own. “I remember during my lifetime I would meet women, and it was almost like God would say to me, ‘Now, this woman here is not the one you are going to end up with, but she is going to be a lot like this woman; look at this woman, study this woman,’ ” he said. “And when my wife showed up, he was like, ‘You recognize her now?’”

And he isn't the only one calling for Baldwin to be dropped either, as a number of prominent LGBT campaigners are calling for a similar punishment to be handed to the actor. According to fellow GOProud member, John Hawkins; “It’s still a free country and Alec Baldwin can do as much gay bashing as he likes on Twitter, but it’s hard to understand why Capital One would choose to publicly condone his homophobia by keeping Baldwin on as its spokesman."

Alec Baldwin Rants On Twitter About Wife's Alleged Phone Use At Gandolfini Funeral

Alec Baldwin Hilaria Baldwin James Gandolfini Steve Buscemi

A British tabloid claimed that Alec Baldwin's wife Hilaria Baldwin tweeted during the funeral of Soprano's star James Gandolfini. When Alec Baldwin heard about the article in The Daily Mail he launched into an irate and homophobic tirade on Twitter.

Baldwin's pregnant wife, Hilaria, did tweet about the funeral and addressed one of her posts to James Gandolfini or as she referred to him 'Jimmy'. As The Mail pointed out this post was between two considerably chirpier ones including discussing recipes and asking advice from her followers about anniversary presents.

Unfortunately, as the time is recorded on Twitter, The Mail does have a point, evidently upon arriving at the funeral or even during the course of it Hilaria was on her phone.

Lights Go Out On Broadway For James Gandolfini

James Gandolfini Jessica Lange Alec Baldwin HBO The Sopranos

Broadway will dim its lights on Wednesday (June 26, 2013) in tribute to actor James Gandolfini, the Tony award nominee who died in Italy last week aged 51. The Broadway League announced that theatre marquees will go dark for one minute at 8pm, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Gandolfini was best known for playing New Jersey mobster Tony Soprano on HBO's The Sopranos - considered the greatest television drama of all time - though he also excelled on the stage. In 2009, the actor earned a best actor Tony Award nod for his role in Yasmina Reza's comedy God of Carnage, which he produced two years later at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre. Previously, Gandolfini had appeared in A Streetcar Named Desire (1992) opposite Jessica Lange and a youthful Alec Baldwin

"Whether on screen or on a Broadway stage, [Gandolfini] made every role believable and seemingly effortless," Charlotte St. Martin, the Broadway League's executive director, said in a statement.

Does Broadway's 'Orphans' Work Without Shia LaBeouf? [Pictures]

The Broadway production of Lyle Kessler's 'Orphans' starring Alec Baldwin, opened at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Thursday evening (April 18, 2013), after a chaotic build-up that saw lead star Shia LaBeouf walk out of rehearsals. The play follows two orphaned brothers living in a decrepit North Philadelphia row house. The eldest (originally played by Shia, now by Ben Foster) supports his younger sibling (Tom Sturridge) by stealing before kidnapping a rich old man (Baldwin) who becomes the father figure the boys never had.

LaBeouf departed after a highly publicized disagreement with Alec Baldwin, with private emails making their way online. "I can tell you that, in all honesty, I don't think he's in a good position to be giving interpretations of what the theater is and what the theater isn't," Baldwin told Vulture.com afterwards. However, the Transformers actor showed up on the front row for the previews at the end of March and led a resounding standing ovation when it finished.

NBC In Talks With Alec Baldwin For Late Night Chat Slot

Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin could be in the running to become a new star for NBC’s late night programming, according to a report from the New York Times. Baldwin’s already got a decent relationship with the network, following his successful stint in the popular comedy series ’30 Rock,’ which landed him with two Best Actor in a Comedy Emmy Awards. Additionally, he’s got form when it comes to interviewing, with his WNYC radio podcast, Here’s The Thing, in which he interviewed the likes of David Letterman, Billy Joel, Kristen Wiig, Chris Rock, Lena Dunham.

The late night line-up for NBC looks be in the middle of a massive refurb right now. Last week, the announcement came that Jimmy Fallon would be leaving his Late Night show and taking over from Jay Leno on the Tonight Show. Speculation over who will replace Fallon is rife and NYT suggest that “the mutual interest between Mr. Baldwin and NBC about opening a late-night spot for the actor could result in three new late-night hosts for NBC.”

Baldwin has long been considered a quality guest on late night TV chat shows; is this time for the tables to finally be turned and for Baldwin to take up the mantle as a regular late night chat show host? He might have to get used to the paparazzi though, which he didn;t seem so happy about at his recent visit to The Late Show. Baldwin + Paparazzi hasn;t been a terribly successful combination of late though...

Tish And Miley Cyrus Rally Over Twitter To Save The Horses

Miley Cyrus Alec Baldwin Pamela Anderson Joan Jett

There’s never a shortage of causes for celebs to rally behind and Miley Cyrus’s latest pet project probably won’t come as a surprise.

Yesterday, after a flurry of tweets in her horse onesie, the Can’t Be Tamed singer voiced her support for a petition to ban all horse-drawn carriages in New York. Miley tweeted a link to the petition online, at the suggestion of her mother, who was the first to get behind the ban. "Miley grew up around animals and with all our horses growing up, so she is very passionate about protecting all animals," mom Tish Cyrus explained for E!News. It made sense then, to try and use Miley’s enormous fan base to raise support for the petition.

And it worked! A spokeswoman for New Yorkers for Clean, Livable & Safe Streets, the organization behind the proposed ban, the organization behind the petition, has said that the 100 000 signature goal was “shattered”, largely because of the Cyrus family’s endorsement.

Shia LaBeouf Quits Broadway Play, Actor Was ‘Incompatible’ With Alec Baldwin

Shia LaBeouf Alec Baldwin Tom Sturridge

Shia LaBeouf quits Broadway play after a week of rehearsals? We can’t say we’re too surprised. The actor was to play Treat in a revival of Lyle Kessler’s 1983 play Orphans, however, it appears he ran into difficulties with co-star Alec Baldwin, who himself has had a rough week after being accused of racist slurs by the New York Post. It’s bad news for LaBeouf fans who had already snapped up tickets for the Transformers star’s Broadway debut when they were made available two days ago, though the nature of his exit looks complex.

On Wednesday, LaBeouf – who allegedly dropped acid for his turn in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman - took to Twitter to post a series of emails to and from members of the creative team. One from the director Daniel Sullivan appears to hint at artistic tensions between LaBeouf and Baldwin, both hot-headed yet talented performers. “I'm too old for disagreeable situations,” Sullivan wrote, “You're one hell of a great actor. Alec is who he is. You are who you are. You two are incompatible. I should have known it.” Sullivan appears to suggest Shia tried to dissuade him from putting him in the production, saying, “This one will haunt me. You tried to warn me. You said you were a different breed. I didn't get it.”

In an email to both Baldwin and Sullivan, LaBeouf apologizes for his role in the situation, saying, “A man can tell you that he was wrong. That he did wrong. That he planned to. He can tell you when he is lost. He can apologise, even if it's just to put an end to the bickering.” The correspondence paints a picture of a tense and frosty atmosphere on the set of the play, which is set to open at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in the spring. The production’s official website still features a banner with Baldwin, LaBeouf and the British actor Tom Sturridge.

Senator Calls For Alec Baldwin To Be Banned From Hollywood Over Hate Crime Allegations

Alec Baldwin Hilaria Baldwin

The New York Police Department's Hate Crime Task Force has launched an investigation into Alec Baldwin's recent outburst at a New York Post photographer. The snapper was called to a downtown station where he was interviewed about an alleged racially charged run-in with Baldwin outside the actor's East Village apartment building on Sunday (February 17, 2013). Photographer G.N Miller, a retired NYPD detective, told cops that the 30 Rock star called him a "coon," "a crackhead" and a "drug dealer."

Baldwin reportedly made the comments after telling reporter Tara Palmeri, "I want you to choke to death." The journalist had approached him while he was walking his dog to ask about the lawsuit against his wife Hilaria Thomas. "He said some foul s--t about my mom," Miller said. "He kept calling me a name, coon." Baldwin rejected the claim that Miller is a former police officer on Twitter, telling followers, "Moments after I tweet about the Post, Ralston, the ex-crackhead 'photographer' shows up at my door w 1 of Murdoch's nieces in tow," adding, "Ralston claims he's ex NYPD!! That can't be!!! Ex NYPD don't become crackhead, ex jailhouse paparazzi!" It's unclear why Baldwin referred to Miller as "Ralston," though he has already filed a complaint with police alleging that the photographer "pushed into him", during the incident.

State Senator Malcolm Smith has called on Hollywood to blacklist the actor, "If these allegations are true, then no television network or film studio should hire the veteran actor until he seeks help," Smith said. "In today's modern age, it's a disgrace that people still use remarks that provide hatred to others based on race, religion or origin."

Hate Crime Police Investigate Alec Baldwin's Alleged Racist Rant

Alec Baldwin Hilaria Baldwin

Alec Baldwin has found himself on the receiving end of a Hate Crime investigation in New York, after allegedly hurling racist abuse at a paparazzi photographer working for the New York Post. According to a report from the publication, Baldwin made a number of offensive remarks to the photographer, GN Miller and the accompanying reporter Tara Palmeri. Baldwin reportedly referred to Miller as a “coon,” a “crackhead” and a “drug dealer.”

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force have now been called onto the case to investigate the incident, about the alleged race-hate crime, which happened outside of Baldwin’s East Village apartment that he shares with his pregnant wife Hilaria. According to the report, Baldwin’s offensive language wasn’t simply confined to that of a racist nature. He told Palmeri “I want to choke you to death” and told Miller “suck my d**k.” The comments were captured on Palmeri’s Dictaphone. Baldwin also filed his own complaint with the police, claiming that Miller had pushed him during the incident. Sources told the New York Post that the charges are being taken very seriously and that Baldwin could face charges if investigators find enough evidence.

Baldwin commented on the incident on his Twitter page, the New Post report, but say that the tweets have since been deleted. It apparently read “Moments after I tweet about the Post, Ralston, the ex-crackhead ‘photographer’ shows up at my door w 1 of Murdoch’s nieces in tow.” Another read “Ralston claims he’s ex NYPD!! That can’t be!!! Ex NYPD don’t become crackhead, ex jailhouse paparazzi!” It is currently unclear why Baldwin referred to him as Ralston.

Alec Baldwin Set For Second Child And First With New Wife Hilaria Thomas Baldwin

Alec Baldwin

Great news for Alec Baldwin and his new wife Hilaria Thomas Baldwin! They’re expecting their first child together! Lovely stuff.

A rep confirmed the news to Reuters, though was shy on the details, refusing to comment on when the due date was. However, the pair have been giving some thoughts on the pregnancy to US TV Show Extra. “If I really shared with you how I felt, I would probably burst out crying," 30 Rock star Baldwin said. His wife works as a correspondent for the show, and also commented "It was a surprise, a wonderful surprise. Now I'm showing and it's getting to be much more, like, 'Oh, my God, this is actually going to happen'."

Baldwin already has one child from his previous marriage to Kim Bassinger, daughter Ireland, who was born in 1995. Bassinger and Baldwin were married for nine years between 1993 and 2002, just long enough for them to feature on a classic episode of The Simpsons as themselves, where they hide away on the outskirts of Springfield to avoid the public eye.  The actor will have plenty of time to help his new wife through her pregnancy, given that 30 Rock finally came to a close recently after a hugely successful six year run.
