BEASTIE BOYS star Adam Horovitz has a scholarly secret - he's a SCRABBLE master.

The rap trio regularly play the word game, but Horovitz, aka AD-ROCK, really takes the boardgame seriously, tacking down Scrabble clubs and competing with old masters.

He says, "When we're on tour, I find out where the local Scrabble club is. When I walk in, the average guy is, I'd say, about 70.

"There's a group of maybe four to eight people, and I sit down. They look at me like, 'Who's this strange kid?'"
