Norwegian pop stars A-Ha are reuniting next year (15) to celebrate 30 years since their chart breakthrough.

The pop veterans shot to fame with their hit song Take On Me in 1985 and reunited in 1998 after a four-year hiatus, but they split again in 2010.

A year later (11) they performed a one-off memorial concert, and now they have announced they will be returning next year (15) to perform at the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which also turns 30 in 2015.

A-ha originally performed at Rock in Rio for the first time in 1991, alongside Prince, George Michael and New Kids on the Block.

Keyboardist Magne Furuholmen confirmed the news in a press release, saying, "The concert at the Maracana stadium in 1991 was one of the greatest highlights in A-ha's career... When the band got an offer to return in connection to the festival's 30th anniversary, it was impossible to turn it down."

The festival will take place in September (15) and other stars confirmed for the line-up include Katy Perry and John Legend.
