Three men have been found guilty of killing South African reggae star LUCKY DUBE.
Dube - who recorded more than 20 albums in his lengthy music career - was shot three times outside his brother's house in Rosettenville, southern Johannesburg, in October 2007, in what was believed to have been a botched hijacking.
The star was killed in full view of his children.
Sifiso Mlanga, Julius Xowa and Mbuti Mabe, all in their 30s, were charged with murder with aggravated circumstances, robbery and hijacking in connection with the incident.
They pleaded not guilty to Dube's killing in February (09), but were convicted of the crime on Tuesday (31Mar09).
According to local station Talk Radio 702, two of the accused attempted to escape on Tuesday, but were captured and brought back to court to hear the judgment.
Arguments for the sentence will begin on Wednesday (01Apr09).
