A copyright infringement lawsuit filed against hip-hop star 50 Cent has been dismissed by a U.S. judge.
Rapper Tyronne Simmons launched a legal battle against 50 Cent and music producer William C. Stanberry in 2010, claiming he owned the exclusive right to the instrumental featured in hit 2007 track I Get Money (Straight to the Bank Pt. 2).
However, on Friday (23Mar12) U.S. District Judge Dora Irizarry dismissed all counts against the Candy Shop hitmaker, real name Curtis Jackson - because the three-year statute of limitations for a copyright suit had expired.
The judge has not yet reached a decision on the claims against Stanberry.
