Zsa Zsa Gabor, the legendary Hollywood actress who was given her last rites in hospital last year, has returned home to her mansion in Bel Air after undergoing a successful leg amputation, reports People Magazine. Her spokesman JOHN BLANCHETTE joked that the actress was "yelling at nurses", and added, "everything is back to normal". Doctors were pleased with Gabor's condition following the surgery and on Saturday (22nd January 2011) she was allowed to check out of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre a week early.
It was reported earlier this week that Gabor's husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt had put the couple's California home up for sale because he was struggling to maintain it. The mansion, which has 28 rooms, is currently on the market for $28 million. The amputation comes after several years of health scares for the 93-year-old actress. Back in 2002, she suffered multiple injuries after being involved in a serious car crash and two years later she suffered a stroke. Blanchette added that Gabor's husband had described her condition as "feisty".
The actress is perhaps best known for her role in the 1952 movie 'Moulin Rouge' but she also appeared in a number of comedy movies in the 1990's, such as 'The Beverly Hillbillies'.
