Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt recently blasted 'The Golden Casket Company' for their offer of a free handcrafted casket for his wife, despite the company insisting that he specifically requested to be sent information about the gift.
ZSA ZSA GABOR's husband had apparently 'slammed' the directors of the casket company, branding them "sick people" for their offer. However, in a statement to Contactmusic.com, Edward Balfour insists that his company were clearly told Von Anhalt was interested in receiving further information about the casket. He says, "The offer was for a heartfelt gift, and clearly made for when the time comes in the future. If we received some publicity that would also been welcome. John Blanchette (Gabor's publicist) called us to say the prince was very interested in the casket, and that the prince asked that further information be sent to him personally and directly". Balfour also provided Contactmusic.com with correspondence between himself and Blanchette in which 'The Golden Casket Company' are instructed to send more information about their 'heartfelt gift'. Despite this, Von Anhalt has been quoted in multiple tabloids both in Germany and the US heavily criticising the company for their gesture. Balfour added that he is both "insulted and saddened" by the negative connotations and still remains unsure whether or not Von Anhalt's comments are accurate.
The statement to Contactmusic.com comes just hours after ZSA ZSA GABOR was reportedly rushed back to hospital in Los Angeles after "spitting blood". The Hollywood actress had her right leg amputated last month.
