Zoe Saldana kept her wedding a secret for over six months in order to protect her personal life.
Zoe Saldana kept her marriage a secret from the press to save her ''sanity.''
The 'Avatar' star married Italian artist Marco Perego in June this year, but she announced their wedding six months later, believing the secret nuptials would help ''protect'' her private life.
She told Ocean Drive Magazine: ''I love what I do so much, but I love my [personal] life more. I realised through the years of being in this business that the only way to maintain some kind of sanity is to protect that which is most dear to you, which is your life and everyone that's in it.''
Zoe, 35 - whose previous high profile relationship with actor Bradley Cooper lasted just over a year in 2012 - also revealed that the top secret wedding had taken place in London.
The 'Star Trek' actress - who was born and raised in Passaic, New Jersey - said: ''I got married in England. I did it in England. Can you top that?''
Despite only going public with their romance in May, Zoe and her artist boyfriend aroused suspicion of their secret nuptials when they were spotted attempting to hide what appeared to be wedding bands on a night out in London this September.
A source previously said that the ceremony ''was super small but very romantic and beautiful.''
