Zach Braff is being lined up to join the cast of 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'.

The 'Garden State' actor has been approached to take on the role of Frank, the loyal assistant of Oz (James Franco) in the Sam Raimi directed Disney movie about a magician who is mistaken for a powerful wizard by the people of Oz when he is blown into town on a balloon.

Zach will join a star studded line up in the film with Michelle Williams set to play Glinda, the Good Witch, Mila Kunis as her sister Theodora and Rachel Weisz taking on the role of the evil Evanora.

Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire have written The Script, with Joe Roth, Josh Donen and Grant Curtis producing and Palek Patel exec producing the project, which serves as a prequel to 1939's 'The Wizard Of Oz' starring Judy Garland.

The Disney-funded project begins shooting in Michigan in July, and will be released in 3D ON March 8, 2013.

Zach's role in the movie comes after he wrote his first play 'All New People', which opens off-Broadway at the Second Stage Theatre on July 25.
