Zac Efron found watching his love scenes ''awkward'' - because he was sitting with his mother.
The 24-year-old actor shares intimate moments with Taylor Schilling in his new film 'The Lucky One' and admits he was very uncomfortable during a screening of the movie because his family were also in attendance.
He said: ''We saw the film together and I was kind of squirming. Even though she was a couple of seats down from me, I tried to duck out during those scenes because it was too embarrassing. Obviously I'm acting, but knowing that my mom and my family were watching is kind of awkward. There's really no way around it.''
While Zac admits his mother, Starla, also found the scenes ''weird'' to watch, he insists she is always very proud of his work.
He told People magazine: ''She was just laughing about it in a good way. She said, 'That's my boy!' I think she was proud of me at the end of it, even if it was weird for her to watch. My mom is my biggest supporter.''
While Zac - who has been single since splitting from 'High School Musical' co-star Vanessa Hudgens in December 2010 - was embarrassed to watch love scenes with his mother, he is never afraid to turn to her for advice about relationships.
He said: ''She's always giving me tips. My mom is the number one person who has taught me to be courteous towards women, to always be respectful and polite to them, and to always lead with your heart.''
