Yoko Ono has spoken out in defence of Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills, insisting she is in the perfect position to understand the troubles that led to the couple's split. John Lennon's widow sympathises with ex-model Mills as she too experienced the pressures of being married to a beatle. Ono says, "I feel very bad for her. I know better than anyone what it's like being a Beatle wife, nobody gives you an easy time. "Whatever happened in their marriage I don't know. But it must be very hard for her as well as Paul. "When I heard about the split I was really sad. "The thing I keep remembering is how, just before Heather gave birth to her and Paul's daughter, he told me how happy he was. He actually said, 'I feel like I've been given a second life.'"
