Former Yes frontman Jon Anderson and pioneering jazz violinist Jean-Luc Ponty have called on fans to help them fund their new project online.

The odd couple has been working on new music for the past few years under the moniker The Anderson Ponty Band, and now the two stars are ready to release a Cd/Dvd concert package.

Their Kickstarter.com campaign has already raised over $85,000 (Gbp50,000) towards its $95,000 (Gbp56,000) goal, and Ponty and Anderson are now planning a major concert, featuring new material, reworked Yes tunes and classic Ponty tracks, at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado, which will be filmed for the Dvd release.

Anderson tells UltimateClassicRock.com, "We're putting the show together to go to Aspen, rehearse and do a couple shows there, and then take the show on the road next year. The plan is coming together."
