U.S. rockers the Yeah Yeah Yeahs surprised fans in New York on Wednesday night (22Sep10) by hosting a secret gig to mark their 10th year as a band.
The Maps hitmakers formed in the Big Apple in 2000 and to celebrate the anniversary, the trio performed an impromptu set at Brooklyn's Secret Project Robot venue.
Tickets for the gig, which saw the band play songs from the last decade, sold out within 30 minutes a day before the show (21Sep10).
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are reportedly planning to host a series of other small gigs around the city to mark their 10 years in the industry.
