Laura Pickler is the proud and doting wife of long-time butter carving champion Bob Pickler. When Bob is forced to relinquish his title for that year's butter carving competition (an annual event in their small town in Iowa), Laura determinedly decides to step up and submit her own talents in order to keep the title in the family. However, her confidence is diminished when an unusual opponent also enters the competition. That opponent is 10-year-old adopted girl Destiny who is allowed to participate by her accepting but fairly sceptical foster parents Julie and Ethan. If that wasn't enough to spur Laura's determination then what comes next certainly will be. It is revealed that Bob has become hopelessly infatuated by a gorgeous stripper named Brooke who goes by the stage name of Tokyo Rose and who also happens to be entering the competition in a bid to snatch the butter carving champion title from Laura's reach. While the competition initially was created to represent the excellence in butter, it now becomes about power, politics and sex.
'Butter' is set to become a huge hit with its hilarious all-star cast, ridiculous subject matter and humour that is set to win the hearts of movie lovers everywhere. Directed by Jim Field Smith ('She's Out of My League') and the screenwriting debut of up and coming star Jason A. Micallef, you won't have to wait for 'Butter' any longer with a release date that couldn't be any nearer on October 5th 2012.
Alex Cross is a homicide detective in Washington DC who comes across a series of gruesome and elaborate murders on duty. The victims look as if they've been tortured to death with a reasonable amount of skill, as if the perpetrator was an expert in inflicting pain. Cross deduces that their suspect is ex-military going by his techniques and it doesn't take long before he and the murderer, Michael 'The Butcher' Sullivan make contact. It is clear that Sullivan is deranged, believing that inflicting pain is his calling in life. In spite of any mental incapacities, however, Cross loses all sense of his own morality and indeed sanity when Sullivan targets and murders his beautiful wife on their anniversary and he sets out to track down this killer once and for all, though things do not appear as easy as he might've thought.
'Alex Cross' is the crime thriller adapted from the popular American novelist James Patterson's twelfth book on the character, 'Cross'.
